This is really unsurprising given the rise in the number of cases of the virus in the last few days. 855 cases as of tonight. Why are the number of cases increasing? Seems this is happening as a result of some persons who are not respecting and carrying out the health protocols. Not respecting the requirement to maintain social distancing, non wearing of a mask and /or not carrying out hygiene measures.
So the President has decided that there will now be no relaxation of the measures. Hopefully we won't end up with another total lockdown.
It is very disappointing to those of us who are trying to carry out all these measures.

The President is also asking everyone to come forward to be vaccinated, if they haven't as yet.

The current measures are annoyingly inconsistent. On the one hand you´re required to wear a mask even outdoors when you´re not in close proximity to others and on the other hand you´re not required to use much more effective medical masks (FFP 2 or 3) even indoors (and to wear them correctly, i. e, fitting tight enough to prevent air from bypassing the filter). It also seems people aren´t sufficiently aware of the risk posed by aerosols and the benefits of having a draft to air indoor spaces. Government should really make an effort to spread that knowledge. Apart from speeding up vaccinations, of course.

Apart from some peoples reluctance to be vaccinated, it seems that the supply of vaccines has been slow and insufficient in quantity. But hopefully both these will improve.

Meanwhile if people try to obey the present health protocols that would also help to slow down the rate of infection. Otherwise there is the risk that the hospitals will be unable to cope with the numbers of cases.
