Anyone NOT having the vaccine?
Anyone NOT having the vaccine?
I have spoken to one or two ex pats who are determined NOT to have the vaccines for certain reasons. Are you in this catagory? If so what is your reason.
Re: Anyone NOT having the vaccine?
I am surprised that some people are determined not to have the vaccine. Unless there is a valid medical reason for this, it seems foolish not to avail oneself of the chance to get vaccinated. If people opt out thats their business, but they should bear in mind that getting the virus may well be much more unpleasant. They could be seriously ill with it, or even pass away. As some people have already done.

Personally, I am not "surprised" that some people will not have the vaccination
for whatever reason, may it be religious, medical or whatever.
I for one will not condemn those who do not decide to be vaccinated.

Re: Anyone NOT having the vaccine?
It is no surprise to me that some people choose not to have these vaccines, given the level of 'antivax' material circulating on most social media platforms and msm coverage.

Re: Anyone NOT having the vaccine?
Entirely up to the individual and not something that needs to be justified either way and neither side should take the moral high ground over those who think differently.
Re: Anyone NOT having the vaccine?
Sometimes avid readers of the social media channels end up taking wrong decisions...
of course people have the right to decide if they want to take the vaccine.
But apparently some of these people end up in hospital having caught the virus, and end up regretting that they refused the jab.

Re: Anyone NOT having the vaccine?
If you don't take the vaccine you are putting other people at risk. Now if you can't take it for medical reasons then that is fair enough. In fact, it is for your sake that everybody else should take it. By not taking it, they are creating greater risk for you.
If you can live with that, fine. But don't expect me to think much of you.

still sitting on the fence regarding this topic, only learned tonight on the bbc news, banner in the back ground, people who have blood disorders should consult their doctor before having vaccines, what warnings will be next, I myself have blood disorder so being very cautious.

You are precisely the type of person I meant when I said "if you can't take it for medical reasons".

Re: Anyone NOT having the vaccine?
I was advised by a Dr, friend to take 75ml aspirin a day, for one week, if I was worried about getting blood clots, so I have taken their advice .

Aspirin isn't recommended for everyone so you should consult your doctor before taking it on a regular basis.
I've been advised not to take it due to being asthmatic plus a previous ulcer and I also have digestive issues.
I just checked the UK health advice. The link is here and I suggest people read it first:

Re: Anyone NOT having the vaccine?
Has anyone heard of Enteric coated Asprin? Its been available for years, but surprisingly many doctors don't tell their patients about it.
The enteric coating helps it to be absorbed without it harming the digestive system. And yes, you can get it here in Cyprus, slightly more expensive, but worth it.

Re: Anyone NOT having the vaccine?
I believe that Nu-Seals is an Enteric coated Asprin.
My Cardiologist prescribed me these several years ago.
She actually gave me the option, as they are a bit more expensive.
The other option was normal aspirin ( much cheaper ).

Re: Anyone NOT having the vaccine?
I think I would rather take notice of the specialist doctors and scientists than the specialist numpties on facebook regarding vaccine.

I have had the AZ vaccine and no side effects. I do note however, that Alexa now no longer requires voice commands and I can now phone people simply by talking to my left hand.

Yes, I didn't say either that you did recommend it for everyone - but many people take their advice from social media, as evidence within this thread has already shown.
Aspirin isn't good for people with certain conditions and therefore medical advice should be sought by an individual before taking it, especially if on other medications.
I had no idea it wasn't compatible due to my asthma because as a rule, I take paracetamol for pain.
But following an odd event some 11 days after my AZ vaccination, it was a question I asked.
My leg pain and bruising in my foot and ankle hasn't cleared after almost 4 weeks so now I'm going to have to arrange a visit to my GP.

I had a chat with my Dr friend just after having the Jab, and he said, if you are concerned about blood clots, it wouldn't do you any harm to take 75ml of aspirin for a week, I was just posting my experience, As for thick people believing everything on social media, well thats up to them,... on a side note Kim Kardashian has just been made a Billionaire , by posting Shite on social media, Proofs the point on how many thickos there are out in Facebook land.PhotoLady wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 12:27 pm WHL

Re: Anyone NOT having the vaccine?
I take 75 mg aspirin daily due to the history of stroke/heart problems in my family, with my G.P.s blessing.
I was asked if I took any blood thinners when I attended for my vaccination, I told them aspirin and they made a note of it on the form they were filling in for each patient.
One might say I am never getting into a car ever again, as people die in crashes, we are probably more at risk of that, than a blood clot from the AZ vaccine.
