Re: Dig to map ancient Paphos comes to an end
Why all the question marks after the University of Warsaw? It's a fact that the Universities of Warsaw and Krakow have been coming to Cyprus for a number of years to work on the UNESCO Heritage site near Paphos Harbour. They have been coming every summer usually during the students summer holidays in Jul-August. They bring a large group made up of some of their current Archaeolgical faculties students, with Professors, supervisory staff and some post grad students as well, i have worked at times with groups from both universities on site, helping with 'pot washing' of the finds and can testify to the expertise of their professors, and senior staff and the hard work done so willingly and with enthusiasm by generations of their students. So it is very good to hear now of the successful outcome of their work. Of course all foreign universities come here with the approval of the Cyprus Govt, the Antiquities Dept and the University of Cyprus Archaeological faculty,
