I saw it last night. I haven't turned it into a news story because there has been no official announcement. In the last official announcement of allowable countries, UK was still in the grey area (literally, that is what it is called).

Besides, I thought International flight from the UK was banned until May 17th, wasn't it?

Cyprus, as is every other country, is entitled to make its own decisions as to where visitors come from and the requirements to enter the country.
However if that country has different rules in place then its residents will have to follow those rules.

A good sign that Cyprus is taking the initiative and encouraging people to visit - at least it gives people who do want to travel overseas an option of places that are welcoming them and they can plan ahead and make bookings.

My only concern is that this has been issued by the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and not the usual Cyprus authorities.

Cyprus badly needs the revenue and so is encouraging tourists to come here.
But it has quite a lot of Covid cases at present, mostly in Limassol.
I hope that visitors to the island will have had their vaccinations (2jabs) before coming here.

Nothing has changed with regards to International Travel outside of England and (as far as I'm aware) for the whole of the UK.
EXCEPT without a valid reason for which forms must be completed - not quite on pain of death if you're caught out, but a hefty fine will accompany it.

The UK Government were due to review Travel on 12 April but there was an indication last week that this may happen earlier or more information will be forthcoming around 5 April.
As of now, the indication is nothing will move until on or after 15 May for "holiday travel"

There was indeed but I think there's been some backtracking but not sure how much.

'Grand plans announced by the transport minister for the opening of the island’s airports and optimism expressed by other tourism players earlier this week, began to wane rapidly after the UK government appears set to keep the entire travel industry on tenterhooks until at least April 5'.

Talk this morning that we may not be allowed foreign travel until August, and then only to countries with a good vaccination record.
