Yes,i know its not a good time to mention flying.However it was hotly disputed ( in our local of course ) the other day as to whether BA,s Avios points had an expiry date,if you did not use them of course.Also on your demise can you hand them down with the inheritance.
Iv,e tried on the BA website but my low tech aging grey matter can not find the answere.
As you will probably have seen...
"Your Avios stay with you as long as you collect, spend, purchase or share at least one Avios every 36 months — any longer and your Avios will expire and be removed, so remember to take action before those three years are up."
So it seems if you don't use one or some you will lose them after 36 months.
Many years ago, we had quite a few points with Cyprus Airways, unfortuatly they run out of time, and we lost them, so wifey felt a bit conned and rung them up to complain, they agreed that as regular customers we should get some free flights, wait for it about a week later we recieved two free return flights to Damascus , at a time when there was alot of fighting going on, and westerners were being taken hostage.......
