I was a dong millionaire when I visited Vietnam. There were 10,000 dong to the dollar.
I pissed it up the wall pretty quickly, it has to be said.

Re: News to me!!!
At a guess I would say the thread was started by a spammer, whose post has long since been deleted. Either that, or it was started by a poster who then had a hissy fit and left in a huff, demanding that all their posts be removed. Unfortunately, under EU law, I have to comply with their desire, rather than just tell them to grow up and stop being such a baby. The result is the occasional thread like this, with the missing initial post.
Dong is the name of the currency in Vietnam.

If you look at the first post, you will see it has "Re:" at the start. This tells you that it was indeed a reply.

Dong, merrily on high! On high numbers but low value. When I was in Vietnam the only currency we used was the US dollar. I have some very good memories of the country from Ha Long Bay in the north to the Mekong Delta in the south. Good food everywhere and the fresh fruit was to die for (well, nearly, it didn't succeed otherwise I wouldn't be able to post here!).

Money can disappear fast when the exchange rate is like that. But hey, sometimes you gotta enjoy the moment, right?
