Re: Koupes
The large Kiosk at Konia, when you drive up the hill towards Tsada Golf, sell delicious ones. Normally after 9 AM they are all sold....

Re: Koupes
They sell excellent ones in Zorbas bakery, I suppose they’d warm thru at home, they’re absolutely the best I’ve eaten
If you never ask the question, the answer will always be....no

Re: Koupes
Papantonio bakery in Geroskipou great small and large Koupes.
Really tasty. €1.29 for the large. Not warmed though.
I suppose that any/ all of their branches will have the same offering

Re: Koupes
I prefer the homemade type which they sell at Konia, produced from a Letymbou lady. They taste like they did 40 years ago...

as you say Max, you cant beat the home made, crunchy and tasty,
Re: Koupes
Did you know that there are two types of Koupes? Some shops sell one, some the other, made with mushrooms (vegetarian) or with minced pork. Our local baker makes the mushroom variety, really delicious with just the right balance of herbs.

Re: Koupes
The thing is, if you reheat the ones with mushrooms than perhaps you will have an upset tummy...

Re: Koupes
When mushrooms are cooked, the leftovers have to be straight in the fridge. The mushroom protein is very sensitive. When heated again, protein degradation by bacteria or fungal enzymes could occur. Nausea and vomiting diarrhea are possible consequences of this. So if the Koupes are on display for hours and not in a fridge the problem can occur when the reheating temperature is lower than 70c.
