It’s always interesting to see how other countries deal with the virus especially ones successful in controlling the outbreak.
Hong Kong (pop. 7M) having ticked along with zero or single figure daily cases for several months , a few days ago saw an uptick in cases to the low 20s then yesterday to 73 cases ( equiv, to just 10 cases here ) Today this is what the government imposed.
NEW SOCIAL DISTANCING MEASURES:
(Thursday Nov 26 at 0000 until Dec 2 at 2359hrs)
1) Bars must be close
2) Nightclubs must close
3) Bathhouses must close
4) All Live music and dancing is prohibited even in weddings etc.
5) There must be no more than 40 person at any type of venue. Maximum is 10 tables at 4 person a table. This is applicable to all clubs and hotels too.
6) Restaurant capacity may not cross 50% of capacity max 4 per table.
7) People must wear masks when not eating and when getting up from their seats at restaurants.
8} Hotels must make sure that if they have quarantine guests these guests must be separated from guests who are not under quarantine.
9) Hotels have a responsibility that guests in quarantine cannot leave their rooms.

Hong Kong is very efficient, even without political interference from 'Big Brother!
Those measures must be quite hard to enforce given the sheer number of hotels and especially restaurants and Dim Sum eateries. If I were there I would understand why there is no mention of the social distancing rule 2x meters, many streets are too full of pedestrians to do this.
But the Chinese can be very disciplined and I expect that it will work.
