Not once have I seen any mention of the eye surgeon who operated on these unfortunate people. Does he bare any responsibility for the damage and pain that was inflicted on his patients? Will he face a very thorough examination by a medical board, and if it should be proved to be negligence, then what?

Agree with you entirely. I had cataract surgery on both eyes a year ago. I had one operation at a hospital in Paphos, where the eye surgeon visits the hospital here from his base in Nicosia.
This operation left me with problems, some caused, I think by treatment in a general operating theatre where possibly there was less specialized equipment available. My other eye was treated at Pantheo Eye Clinic in Limassol, where every facility for eye surgery was available, This 2nd operation was so much better than at the previous hospital. The treatment there was 1st class. So something must have been very wrong at the hospital in Nicosia for 9;patients to have suffered the way that they have. I hope a cause is found, so blame can be established and dealt with by the judicial system.

Yes, HIC I am well aware of the role which Dr Theo has played and his senior position with Pantheo. The surgeon who looked after me was the one who is based in Paphos, but who goes to Limassol to operate. But he was very good too and the care which I received both before and after the operation was first class.
