The cited newspaper article below is interesting. However, although I have observed four species of snake and three types of lizard plus skinks, geckos and chameleons in our garden, the fate of the frogs and toads is worrying. For the first few years after moving in, we regularly observed all three types of amphibians in our garden. In particular, the Tree Frog was everywhere, serenading us. I am not sure when but I guess 10 or 12 years ago all the amphibians simply disappeared. At the time, there was mention in the papers of a disease affecting the amphibians, since when I have seen none of any species.
Just two or three evenings ago, I think I heard a Tree Frog some distance away, the first hint for many years, brought out by the rain. Today's newspaper article

on the subject brought this to mind.

Incidentally, our family of geckos has multiplied well this year.

We get the Frog chorus over here in the east of the island. I have to be careful at times to not step on one in my outdoor shower cubicle.
Re: Frogs, toads and reptiles
We hear plenty of them, never seen though. I would have thought all the rain that we have had over the past few years would keep their habitats in good order
