For the sake of so many struggling business I hope things won't be tightened further. I appreciate it's delicate balancing act but many people are really struggling and I fear this will push some over the edge.

Plus, it is too soon after the recent changes to be able to tell whether they were effective or not. They should give it at least 3 weeks.

The trouble is that people are just not complying. A lady posted on FB today that she was at the duck pond this morning and many people were either not wearing masks or not wearing them properly. People not sticking to entry and exit rules but no one seemed to be trying to enforce the rules. She was so incensed, she stopped at a police patrol on the main road on her way home and told them they should go there and issue some fines!

I have to agree that every time I am out I see people not wearing masks when they should be .
On Friday I was in a Vets and the young lady already at the counter had no mask on... I asked her way she was not wearing one, expecting to be told of a medical condition.. She just said she forgot her mask. But the Vets receptionist should have refused to serve her..
I was also at SOS computers on the same trip. They have a BIG sign on the door..
No Mask.. No Entry.. A thumbs up from me

On a positive note, I was at SuperHome this morning. A man at the entrance taking temperatures and limiting the numbers going in. Hand gel was there at the entrance and inside the shop. I didn't spot even one person not wearing a mask, properly too. I was expecting the shop to be a bit crowded, but it wasn't. There was a police car in the car park, so whether that had made a difference I can't say! He could have popped in for a pot of paint or some Christmas tinsel. :o The car had gone when I came out after 15 mins.

All this proves what I have been saying that it is not making a blind bit of difference if you wear a mask or not and if you are playing to the rules or not, cases are going up according to the powers in charge. Do you not think that there is a major issue with the testing not being correct, as how can 92 people test positive from one company????????????? and they all had no symptoms. A few months ago they tested a flight arriving at Paphos and found loads of positive cases, however when they tested again the next day on the same people only one was positive. Something is not correct here ??????

Well better news tonight, according to In Cyprus, 116 new cases today. Which include expats/ passengers 11 today. Makes me agree that really all pax should be tested neg before flight departs.

At long last someone has placed a post on here ( Happy in Cyprus) that makes sense and I am 100% behind his comments. If the Cyprus Government are so worried about this bloody virus then they would have the testing labs open 24/7. The reason that the positive cases are lower tonight is because only a couple of the test labs open on a Sunday, yet we are all obliged by law made by the same Government to comply 24/7. Total and utter madness, the whole situation.

Whether the testing Labs are open 24/7 or not makes no difference since most of the measures which we must obey are supposed to help minimise the spread of the virus. Though the rules about mask wearing in open spaces seem a bit OTT when out in the country walking. Particularly when it is empty (of humans) far from town or village. Also how to define walking briskly as compared with exercising?
