There was a tribute to him on Saturday night on BBC2, It was a few years old and made after he retired from acting in his early 70s.
I forgot about some of the great films that he had been in, obviously not just Bond. The Man who would be King, a brilliant double act with Michael Caine, The Hill, and one my favorites The Name of the Rose, amongst others.
I didnt know that after turning down the part in On her Majesties Secret Service he decided to do Diamonds are Forever and gave his Million Dollar fee to a Scottish Trust for talented young Scotts, what a guy.
