I have been following a thread on FB where a person returned to the UK from Cyprus and next day was tested positive - the airline and Cyprus authorities were informed and have been following it up. She had no symptoms whilst in Cyprus or on the plane but on return to UK noticed a lack of sense of smell so she booked herself in for a test.

No doubt there is/has been a mad scramble to get flights back to the UK before these quarantine measures begin. Feel sorry for those people who must get back to the UK for work etc.

I was faintly hoping things might have improved by November, but sadly not. I'm going to miss my one & only grandsons first birthday.

We're flying back to the UK on Monday having been here a month.
We arrived having had a negative covid test and seen the Cypriot rate rise to just above a 100 per 100,000 but have felt relatively safe here'.
At the same time the local rate in Sheffield where we live is in the 700/750 per 100,000 bracket and when we get back will be self isolating whilst our next door neighbours won't be..................statistics was never my strong suit but that must make sense to somebody !!!

Tell her to stay safe BC, a couple of doctor friends we have are beginning to get concerned again about the admission levels etc.
