I doubt there will be a charge during the night, I also doubt that it would be checked, as they don't during the day vrry much

Some car parks charge until I think 2am, weird time I know. I found this out after assuming parking was free at night, and came back to a ticket. So it's always worth checking!

You would think in the old town on a Sunday it would be free all day. WRONG. The one where the buses are, now charges for 4 hours.

The 'new' car park behind the former police station, has meters. Its €1 for 4 hrs. Ihave seen the parking Meter man there during the day. Last night I joined others at the parking meter ticket machine. We all put our 1 euro into the machine and the ticket on the car. Just to make sure we didn't come back from the theatre to find a parking fine on the windscreen.

The days of not bothering to buy a parking ticket are over, unless you want to run the real risk of getting a parking fine. There are more traffic wardens about, and they get around on mopeds, so if you park and don't see one it doesn't mean they won't be there in 10 minutes.

I've seen them in municipal car parks, outside Marks and Spencers, along the road by Pingouinos. All over the place. For the low price of a ticket, it's not really worth the risk.

There are 300 free parking spaces adjacent to the nearby primary school up behind the new paid car park near Kennedy Square. These are permanently free but involve a short walk,

I think the carpark behind the mosque is free too, though I haven't checked recently.

Your lucky you don't live in Larnaca,
a shop keeper who placed a chair in front of his store, as to save the parking spot for his customers,
he soon found out you don't mess with the parking wardens, when after repeated requests to remove the chair,
the warden issued a ticket for the chair,
the store keeper had to pay the fine.

I have seen chairs out in the old town saving parking spaces. It annoys me when I see signs in front of shops, 'Parking for Customers only'.

You only need a trigger happy warden, as shown in Larnaca, and it would put a stop to that malarkey

Just go and check the meter. Parking charges in Paphos are very low anyway.
If in doubt I would put money in the meter and the ticket on the car,
Better safe than sorry and all that!

We never worry about paying car parking fees in Cyprus. Almost everywhere is incredibly cheap compared to some other countries.
