Hi folks i have a problem with my neighbours trees some of which are over 10 meters high, i have been told i can report to municipality (peyia) has anybody done so ? If so to whom and what was the response !

Most large trees need a Forestry Dept. permit to be removed. Depends on species of trees and circumference of trunk at 1 m from ground. It is up to your neighbour to apply, not you. There is no 'Ancient Lights' rule in Cyprus.

I spoke to the mukhtar of the village I live in and he came and inspected the trees in the neighbouring plot. He spoke to the owners who only occasionally visit the village and they arranged for the trees to be pruned to a reasonable height.

Had forestry guy come take a look he said because of where they were permission would be given.
