Installer of Gas C.H?

Post by Kili01 »

I am thinking about having Gas CH installed in my house. It is two bed, semi detached. The house doesn't have provision for this built in. Can anyone who has had this type of heating installed while living there, recommend a good, properlytrained and experienced, reliable individual or company, please? Also an idea of installation costs?

Thanks for any useful advice.

My advice is not to go for Gas. In my opinion outdated and in a way also dangerous. You need a huge cylinder outside for the gas as well.

I suggest to contact Green Air Paphos, experts for Gas- but nowadays for Air-heat pump central heating systems. (call Lina or Andreas 26 941 555)

It is much easier to install on existing houses as all you need is an outdoor unit which looks like an air-con compressor and from there of course piping into the house and some radiators. The big advantage is that Winter in Cyprus has relatively high outdoor temperatures of 6-12c in the night and 15-18c daytime and the heat pump is using that energy to boost it, up to 60c if neccessary. No smell, no gas deposit, no danger. System works of course also at lower night temperature, but with higher electricity costs.

Concerning prices: somebody has to see the installation place, which rooms need a radiator etc etc. but as far as I know a 12KW Air to water heat-pump with newest inverter technology will cost ca 4500 Euro and with all the necessary piping and radiators etc it will be in the range of 6ooo Euro, but perhaps less depending the situation.

Well as everyone will know. Diesel and Gas are very much alive and well here in Cyprus :-) :-)
Regulations do vary from country to country even within the EU...
In the UK gas boilers are almost always inside the house together with a Mains Gas supply which is I believe supplied via a plastic pipe..
In Cyprus The gas boiler has to be outside a house or dwelling, but can be in a garage.. The Gas is contained in a thick steel Outside tank, with a Copper Pipe to the boiler, not plastic..

My initial request was for information concerning names of companies or individuals who are experienced at installing domestic gas central heating. As gas heating is still popular in Cyprus hopefully someone reading this could help me?
I have a 2 bed semi detached house, so quite a small area to heat, will need about 5 rads and the boiler installed outside.

Hopefully, someone with gas CH installed, may be able to recommend who they used.
Thanks for any useful info.
