I very much doubt it. Here in Mosfiloti, we had a max at 40.3° C at 15:04 and the temperature now at 17:40 is down to 37.7° C. As far as weather is concerned, anything is possible but 46° C during the night? Unlikely! Where is the energy going to come from? My forecast for lowest night time temperature is about 23° C, inland.

It has come down to 29 c in the shade in Polemi ..

It was31c here in Chloraka at 10pm and the temperature here at 6.30am was still 29c. A very hot and uncomfortable night. Today is going to be a a horrendously hot as predicted by the weather forecasted. I hope that after this the weather will start to get cooler.

Red warning as Cyprus to sizzle in 45C heatwave
The Cyprus Meteorological Service issued a red warning for today, Friday.
The warning will be from 11:00am until 17:00, while the temperature
expected to reach 45 degrees... [Read More]
How anyone can believe the Met service when they issue warnings like the following is beyond all comprehension. In reality, during that time scale, the highest temperature, here in Mosfiloti, was 30.4° C at 04:17. This would translate to a maximum of 32° C in Athalassa. Where is the 46° C forecast overnight? They are simply not credible!

Well it seems that climate change (or the weather) is kicking in here. The highest ever temperature in September, in autumn? What has gone crazy? 8O 8O
I measured 43.7° C at 13:10 with a ventilated Davis and 44.9° C with a non-ventilated Oregon. The Davis and the Oregon track within ± 0.3° C under non-radiative conditions. We are at about 280 m altitude, which explains the difference with the official figures.
The average maximum for early September is about 33° C, so yesterday was about 13° C over the average.

Well, more important for me is when it is that hot all night with 15% RH (humidity) like last night. I woke up 4.30 AM and the outside temperature was still 31c with wind from E. (direction Nicosia) Bedroom temperature was 34.8c!!!! hot!
Temperature came down to 27c though outside with sun rise....and big fans blowing the heat out of the house this moment..

Max,
With all due respect, you may have had 15% RH yesterday around midday or so, but not during the night. I attach the temperature and humidity curves here and it is clear that the blue RH line rises from the afternoon onwards, especially as you are in a more humid area than we are.

Well Devil, at 4.30 AM I was fit enough to read the temperature and humidity in three rooms in order to decide if I open the windows or not.
My bedroom temperature was as I said before 34.8c with 20% humidity, my office similar and in the kitchen the humidity was 15% in and out. (window open) So I decided to go back to bed without switching the large fans on as there was not much cooling effect to expect from these outside temps.
Concerning yesterday midday's conditions, I had 36% RH by 41c, sea level 430m! NO RAIN

Devil, when will you get it into your head that the weather conditions in your neck of the woods can be different from those in Paphos?

I am perfectly aware that the instantaneous weather can be different in different parts of the island. This is illustrated by the official Met office temperatures being cockeyed for all parts of the island, except Athalassa Park. Nevertheless, the differences are not that major when they are averaged. And remember that you have quite a large following in Limassol and east of there.

Sorry, Max, I misunderstood you. I had not realised that you were talking about the conditions indoors. All the figures I quote are derived from properly installed weather stations, outdoors.cyprusmax47 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2020 2:11 pm Well Devil, at 4.30 AM I was fit enough to read the temperature and humidity in three rooms in order to decide if I open the windows or not.

Large followings are irrelevent to the weather difference. I'm sure they don't make enough hot air to affect the climate.Devil wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2020 3:48 pmI am perfectly aware that the instantaneous weather can be different in different parts of the island.
