We went to see Minus One yesterday evening in Peyia. In case you haven't heard of them, they are a Cypriot rock band from Nicosia who, in better times, tour throughout Europe. Our view, and that of our friends who were with us, is that they are the best band on the island. I'm not saying that the local cover bands aren't good, but these guys are exceptional. Crisp and clear sound, bags of personality and attitude, lighting rig, smoke, audience participation. They had it all.
Their material is a mixture of their own compositions and material that is well known from others. I am reluctant to call them a covers band as they often take a well known track and "rock it up", to coin a phrase, so it is noticeably different. Unfortunately dancing was not allowed due to covid restrictions, but it was clear that many in the audience had considerable difficulty remaining in their chairs.
All in all, one of the best gigs I have seen on the island, and I strongly encourage you to see them in action next time they are at this end of the island.
