I thought Paphos Archaeological Museum was closed.

No, it was being upgraded which seemed to take ages. It’s open again and I keep meaning to go and have a look.

I am not sure whether this will make a big influx of visitors to the museums and sites. Without being an intellectual snob, I think the kind of person most likely to visit these sites would not be hard up for a bob or two.

Greece often have free admission to all of its archaeological sites and museums on Bank Holidays. We visited the Acropolis for free on an Easter Monday and Heraklion Museum on a Good Friday. What amused us was they still had the normal amount of staff on the ticket machines, and you had to get your free ticket which was then inspected before you went in.
However, this new initiative will encourage us to visit museums we have not been to.

I would like to point out that Paphos Museum is most definitely NOT open to the public yet as it is still undergoing work. Sorry!
