They need to stop kissing the icons in church. We visited one recently, and the number of people going round kissing the same image one after the other was staggering.

Yes, agreed! We spent a few days in Pedoulas recently and while there visited several of the interesting and beautiful painted churches nearby. I also noticed this habit of kissing the icons. Unhygienic looking practice at the best of times, but that was before the recent return to compulsory wearing of masks.
I wonder if this will stop this happening for now....
