Any suggestions as to the best wood preservative for fences? I've been using Cuprinol Ducksback but not very impressed. I know we're not going to get the 5-year claims on the tin here in Cyprus, but more than one year would be good!
Thanks
Dee

Re: Wood preservative
I've used Ducksback, Ronseal and Lidl paint here and I've found Ducksback by far the best.
1st coat diluted by 15-20%
2nd coat diluted by 5-10%
My fences are in full sun and get done every three years.
Maybe you just had a bad batch.

Over winter e have done some wood treatment down in Tala where our apartment is, the chap at the paint shop in Kissonerga recomemdeed 2 coats of stain and then a top coat of decking stain. We've done that on the pool bridge and a couple of picnic tables and it looks pretty good so far, have started the same approach on the fencing this week. The stain is Peletico, The decking stain brand was Barrettine.

In general, with paints and stains I have found it best to avoid British brands and to go for Cypriot or Greek brands which seem to be formulated better for the climate. Particularly important if applying in hot summer temperatures.
