Exterior wall light with up beam and down beam

Post by Cheshire Lad »

Can anyone help?

I’m looking to buy some external wall lights of the type which shine both upwards and downwards.

The type that I’ve seen resemble an aluminium cylinder with a beam at both ends.

Anyone know where I could buy some .?

Thanks

Loads on ebay and Amazon, but I’d guess the electrical place across from the Museum on the same road as Cyta, would do these...

If it’s an option for you, ours are from Screwfix.

I bought mine from Dimco. At traffic lights near the Fire Station.

Do you think so Lloyd? When I went in there whilst choosing stuff for the final stages of our build, I nearly fell over at some of the prices. That was 5 years ago though.

Some fittings I've bought from Dimco I thought were extremely expensive, but the lights that CL is looking for were very reasonable I recall.

Ok. Here’s the end result.....

Dimco. Good Stock, comes in at about€25-30 per lamp
Screw fix comes in at about £15 per lamp plus postage. UK supplied

And....Strictly Lamps( ebay). £10.50 for the stainless steel variety plus free uk postage.

Bought 5 and have had them sent foc to the Courier in Tremithousa’s uk operation

Should get them in about 3 weeks, which I think is worth the wait.

Certainly when some prices for electrical things seem extravagant here its is good to have them shipped from the UK to Cyprus.
I did the same thing just over a year ago with three 'emergency lights' for our house..

Thanks Lloyd for a very good post. I understand ex@ctly what you mean. - you get what you pay for.

As to looking after the fittings, I’m now on tip no 5 for Johnson’s Baby Oil, which protects our S/Sbarbecue very well against 5he elements.

( Not prepared to reveal tips 1-4 on a public forum)
Just joking so Don’t PM me expecting any details 😀

Trevnhil, what company do you use to ship items from UK to Cyprus? Thank you.

We have used three companies here but after a missing parcel we now stick with RSS Logistics. http://rsslogistics.com/
They have a company with a warehouse in the UK where you get goods sent to... And of course many UK firms send post free to a UK address.. The goods / parcels then go in a container and come to Limassol in Cyprus.. The goods are then taken to Peyia where you can go to collect them..
You do need to contact RSS to 'register' your name with them, and to get their UK address..
I have found the cost very reasonable, in fact I don't even ask now "how much to bring this over." I just get it sent to their UK address.
PM me if you want to know about my 'Missing' Parcel..
