Two bakeries were robbed at knifepoint in Paphos overnight, but the hooded robber appears to have balked at robbing a third, choosing instead to buy a snack and leave, philenews reports.
The first robbery occurred on Apostolos Pavlos Avenue in Kato Paphos, close to the port, at around 2 am. A man wearing a jacket with a hood, a surgical mask and gloves, threatened the woman employee with a knife and took off with €150 from the till.
While police were at the scene investigating, they were notified of second robbery in Chlorakas with the same modus operandi and a matching description of the perpetrator who in this case stole about €600 from the till.
Police are examining CCTV footage from the two bakeries. They have also obtained footage from a bakery at Elladas Avenue in central Paphos where, presumably because there were more employees there, the same hooded man opted to buy a snack and leave.
The man is described as being of slight build. He was wearing a dark sweatshirt with hood, a surgical mask and plastic gloves. Police investigations continue.
