By district, the figures are telling:

Nicosia 0.68%
Limassol 2.16%
Larnaca 0,90%
Paphos 5.84%
Famagusta 2.12%
Morphou 0.68%

The problem is the damage they are doing cannot be seen... If they themselves catch the virus or spread it to family or friends, then they will regret their actions

Trev, I'm not so sure they would, as clearly there's not too much grey matter there! :(

I think the way the original CM article reads tells a much better picture. Limassol carried out 1.527 inspections with 33 booked, whereas Pafos only checked 154 and booked 9. If you don't carry out enough inspections you won't catch as many! Pafos COULD also have carried out the same number of inspections as Limassol, but that doesn't mean they'd necessarily have booked any more than 9.

There's Lies, damned lies and statistics when you wan't to skew results!

As there is disproportionality in the size of Pafos wrt Limassol, I would not have expected 1,527 inspections there. OTOH, I would have expected a helluva site more than 154 to maintain the proportions. I agree that the final figure may be less (or more) than 5.84%, who knows? I don't like comparing apples with pears and proportions are more telling than apparent random figures when you want to skew results!

I'm guessing the Pafos Police have a good idea where they expect to find those that transgress. That could explain the regular low number of inspections. If anyone in the police read this forum, perhaps they could shed a little light on this.
