Some people are moaning about this, but I think a less than 1% booking rate is very impressive indeed.

That rate is very good..Personal experience yesterday when out in Paphos and in a couple of shops was that it was very little different than a normal day..
But of course this could be explained by the fact that more people than ever before have SMS or written permission to be out...
I did see quite a few Police and army people about, but they seemed to be just showing their presence as i saw no cars being pulled in for checks

My neighbours college was fined for stopping over at an ATM on his way to the supermarket because he only had permission to go to the supermarket. That´s ridiculous in my view.

Absurd! I will shortly need cash & my Bakery is on the route. So what should I do? Get a permit on day 1 to go to Bank & then day 2 go to Bakery? Of course not, that would double my & others exposure. Do the Police need to take an intelligence test when applying to get the job?

I must admit that fining someone for calling at an ATM when out shopping is ridiculous

Was he warned before? Is there more to this, I asked this because my neighbour went 500 yards down the road to fill, his water bottles, without a sms, the police gave him a warning that he was to do it again he would be booked

Garden Centres are OPEN for business. I wonder if the police will regard visiting there as an abuse of the system? They shouldn't, otherwise the government should have told them to close! The UK government however, did close down Garden Centres, deeming them non essential.

Interested to hear about someone being booked for stopping at an ATM.I have done that a couple of times since the lock down started,. While out shopping. I must have been lucky!
That seems a bit ridiculous doesn’t it? Or was there more to the particular incident than was reported..

I would just play it safe and go out to the bank one day, and a supermarket the next.
Alternatively, pay at the supermarket with your card.
Rules are rules. You can't claim they are ridiculous just because they affect you. Well you can, but it won't get you anywhere.

How did this even happen? Did they approach the ATM and walk past a police roadblock to use it?

The police are checking on pedestrians as well as people in vehicles

Yes, but presumably they have checkpoints? They aren't hiding behind bushes. My point is, if you see a checkpoint by the bank, and you have got a chit for the supermarket, the sensible thing would be to walk past the bank.

If you check out this site: https://www.pio.gov.cy/coronavirus/en/
& look at Confirmation of Movement Forms it is stated:
"Please be reminded that, as per the relevant decrees, only one movement by way of exception is allowed per day, regardless of the method used to attain the relevant approval."
and further down
"The following restrictions apply:
For all movements by way of exception, each confirmation of movement refers to just one particular movement."
To me, that reads that you can only go out each day for one of the 8 reasons & not several of the reasons.

Assuming that lockdown ends as we pray it will, I hope that the restrictions will be slightly more lenient towards the closed business owners as we approach 30 April I would imagine that the majority of places will need a thorough clean and restocking!.
Re: Coronavirus: 153 people booked in almost 17,000 checks
Wouldn't that be Form A anyway?

Yes I guess it would be but would the owners have to sign their own forms telling them that they go to work in their own place?
Re: Coronavirus: 153 people booked in almost 17,000 checks
It is a pity that the Police are strictly enforcing the lockdown and apparently rather harshly, (I of course agree with it been enforced but common sense should apply), yet when it comes to road traffic offences (Documents, parking, motor cycles, speeding etc.) they seem to be blind to them.
Re: Coronavirus: 153 people booked in almost 17,000 checks
Do the return texts in Paphos give a time limit to be out and about, our return texts just say a reasonable time, I understood that the time limit to be 3 hours?
