I've never liked Cruises. Yet some people do. I am sure those that do like them will go on them again, whereas those that don't, wont.

Been on three, all excellent & thoroughly enjoyed. The magnificence of The Queen Victoria cruising the Baltic in 2013 is still so memorable So I most certainly would go again; finances permitting

After living on ships, barges, drill rigs both in the Gulf and North Sea for over ten years if I never went on a rowing boat again it would be too soon.

We love them. Our first cruise, in Oct, Nov, 2013 was from Limassol. Someone had posted on CyprusLiving that this particular cruise was only 250 pounds, for a week, going to Alanya, Marmaris, Rhodes, Crete and Ashdod. That was on the Wednesday. By Friday the price had come down to 190 pounds. For that price we thought we would take a chance and if we did not like it, we had not spent too much. It was fantastic. We paid for an overnight stay in Jerusalem and our guide was brilliant, staying ahead of all the other tourist groups. We were at the Garden of Gethsemane at 7 in the morning.
Since then we have been on numerous cruises, Norway with Fred Olsen, (another bargain, less than 50 pounds a night each for 18 days.) three from Limassol, and the Adriatic and the Med with P and O from Southampton.
Our most recent was before the Corona Virus hit.On Christmas Day we booked another bargain, 14 days Caribbean for 1000 pounds including flights with Marella(Tui) We went on 3rd Jan.
On all the ships we have been on, the standard of hygiene and the quality of the food have been excellent. Our favourite Marella(Tui) ship was the Spirit, which we have been on 6 times. We had the same cabin stewards on all 6 cruises. Last time we went on the Spirit, just before it was retired, Mary our steward had moved to another ship, and our steward was a Ukrainian lady. She recognised us, and she had been our steward on the first cruise we went on, on the Majesty.

On the 9th April, 2016 we were in Athens, on a cruise.

We too have been on cruises over the years and loved the old Thompson Spirit especially on the cruises from Limassol. In 2018 we went on a Holland America cruise but it was far too crowded (and full of loud Americans!) . I'm not surprised to see on the news a couple of their ships have been quarantined. We will probably go on further cruises but only on smaller and uncrowded ships, not on the 6,000 passenger megaships.

No hate from me just my reasoning for never wanting to go on a boat of any description ever again. A week in a force 8 on a flat bottomed barge is enough experience of sailing to last a lifetime.

I think cruises are a bit like marmite.
I have been on a Star Clipper cruise which was very good sailed from Athens to Venice ..... could step out of our cabin onto the aft deck bit of a shock first morning in the mistral winds 6.5
