Family Pic-Nic ?

Post by Ramone »

We have family coming out next month & I'm thinking of going out & having a Pic-Nic somewhere.
No more than a half hours drive +/- from Sea Caves. About 10 of us.
Any ideas ??

I noticed lots of caterpillar nests near there so be careful with any pets
if you take them garry

Is not only dangerous for pets, if you come in contact with
your skin you might see a doctor or at least visit a pharmacy.

At Pikni Forest, if you continue down the track, you will walk past some bee hives and eventually come to a big pylon. Just past there are the cliffs overlooking Pegia, and the views are stunning. It is an easy walk from the picnic area. Avoid the area on a public bank holiday though, as it can get VERY busy on those occasions.

It just occurred to me, you can see the view on the Paphos Life Facebook Page. I took the page graphic from that location.

I would suggest that there are far nicer picnic areas along the Sea Caves coast between Corralia Bay and NW to Agios Georgios where you can get much closer to the sea and even find the odd little beach here and there!

But you'll need to take your own rubbish bags and dispose of them afterwards (unlike the locals, ahem...). I suggest you do a reconnaisance trip along that stretch one morning, to find the ideal spot, before they arrive... You cannot beat being close to the sea, with its atmospheric sounds, on such occasions...

Alternatively, scrub the picnic idea, and just enjoy a few hours of value for money lunchtime Cypriot food and drink at Yiallos Taverna (aka Round House) on the Sea Caves coast (roughly halfway between my above mentioned way points)?

Enjoy, whichever you choose, or maybe try both, LOL! Yiamass! AL :)
Gone but not forgotten...
