Coffee Beans : Lidl : A favour

Post by aphrodite »

I bought these beans in Lidl a few of weeks ago and they were then advertised on offer in their on line leaflet two weeks ago. When I went to purchase, I was advised they were stuck in Limassol port. They have not appeared since. As I only go to Lidl every three weeks or so, I was wondering if anyone spots them if they wouldn't mind to PM to let me know.
I'm a fresh coffee freak and these beans aren't bad at all!
Thank you :D

There is a problem, the port has been privatised and the labour force has taken umbridge at being sacked as you would expect so many items are very late in all Supermarkets on Cyprus, when will this be resolved? No idea..

That doesn't make sense. If the labour force had been sacked how could they take umbrage?

From what I read, the protest was by truckers who blocked the port in protest at delays (which doesn't make any sense) and increased fees (which does).

Dominic may I suggest you look at local news although they have tried to suppress it, those workers have put out of action Cranes used for removing cargo, this is not my news but a fact! and the reason so much produce is missing from Supermarket shelves, by the way I use the same coffee.

So turn on Cy TV news.

Again not my news, I do not do shop's, but on local TV news said workers who have been laid off disabled those Cranes, certainly Lidl's in fact tried to sue the Port Authorities, again from local TV news.

I would imagine all will soon be back to normal, And those workers get laid back on, they have families remember and bills to pay.

Brian you never make spelling mistakes then? I nearly broke a rib with your highlight on a miss spelling.

Can you point to an online source? I did look at local online news. CM and In-Cyprus both had different takes on the story.

Oh! So if you have a family to look after, you should be forgiven for your wilful sabotage of the property of your employers? Sounds like Gross Miscomduct to me which is a sackable offence. Maybe they should have considered this before doing it if they have families to feed...

Good morning.

Yes I wish them a happy outcome in the hope they do keep their jobs or should I say get those jobs back!, greed is usually behind takeovers or even privatisation, those who have never been in this position should maybe not comment.

Remember they have not caused a problem, those people who have laid these workers off are the problem, do not blame the port workers!!

Again lets all hope this is settled amicably, and we get our coffee beans back on Lidl's shelf.

I read in the Mail it was due to lack of maintenance rather than actual sabotage. I was there a week ago to pick up a car and we were in and out in just over an hour which I thought was pretty good service.

Anyway, I was in Lidl this morning and while they had a lot of coffee I didn't see any of your beans I am afraid. However, they did appear to have just taken delivery of a large shipment of underwear, so if you can fight your way through the thong*, you may be able to grab yourself an underpant bargain.

There is still hope they have the coffee. It was a XXL offer which they normally
stock at different shelves, not where all the coffee's are.... will have a look Saturday.

Aphrodite

Unfortunately for you but your favourite coffee beans are not available at the moment.
Lidl is obviously waiting for the next XXL offers to present it again with other XXL products...

OK Max, thanks for looking and letting me know, I'm sure they will turn up soon, they should have been on the shelves for 'Italian' week.
