Repeat prescriptions
Repeat prescriptions
It appears Gesy have come up with a common sense move at these troubled times . If you are regular visitor to the doctor for your prescription, this can now be done over the phone with your personal Doctor which will forward the prescription to the Pharmacy. You only need to visit the Pharmacy.
I only have a photo of the official memo in Greek , but the above is apparently what it says .

Re: Repeat prescriptions
I have been getting repeat prescription from the GP since Gesy started, despite seeing the heart consultant.
I wonder if appointments with various consultants at the hospital still stand

On a similar vein, does anybody know if outpatient clinics at hospitals (specifically Limassol) are still working as I need to see the oncologist who gives me a regular prescription to get my immunotherapy liquid which I then take to the oncology ward to receive the infusion. I suppose this will also apply to those receiving chemotherapy.

I'd have thought best to phone rather than rely on social media & hearsay!Varky wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2020 9:59 am On a similar vein, does anybody know if outpatient clinics at hospitals (specifically Limassol) are still working as I need to see the oncologist who gives me a regular prescription to get my immunotherapy liquid which I then take to the oncology ward to receive the infusion. Re: Repeat prescriptions
Message received direct from the GESY Q&A today:-
We would like to inform you that according to the announcements of the Health Insurance Organization to all doctors, the beneficiaries are able to contact their attending doctor through the telephone in order to issue a repetitive prescription without visiting the doctor at his/her office, for the period 16/03/2020 until 29/03/2020.

Re: Repeat prescriptions
Thanks , Mike . I could see there was a date on the photo , but I do not read Greek .
My current prescription runs until the 14th April , so I guess I will have to see the doc unless things change .

Re: Repeat prescriptions
I think it is quite possible that prescriptions over the phone will have the date extended. But of course it is a wait and see time

Re: Repeat prescriptions
I suppose that could apply to the majority of questions on this thread, not just mine. I was hoping to get some feedback from someone who had actual experience about which I was asking and not just hearsay.mike strand2 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2020 11:21 amI'd have thought best to phone rather than rely on social media & hearsay!Varky wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2020 9:59 am On a similar vein, does anybody know if outpatient clinics at hospitals (specifically Limassol) are still working as I need to see the oncologist who gives me a regular prescription to get my immunotherapy liquid which I then take to the oncology ward to receive the infusion. Re: Repeat prescriptions
Yes, that is all it needs now.. Sometimes we like to have a printed copy in our hands, but that can be collected from the doctor's

Re: Repeat prescriptions
I guess we can still call our PD's after the period "to 29/03/2020", though not read anything further about this!
Re: Repeat prescriptions
Your doctor, or his receptionist should be able to answer your questions, Just phone in normal surgery hours.

Got my prescriptions over the phone to my GPs reception, they just amended my drugs and our Pharmacy had the list within seconds, no need to see a GP unless you have other problems.
