Part of me wants to say Vretsia but it is taken from an odd angle.

Yes Dominic, it is Vretsia, photographed from the other side of the Xeros valley. Here a second pic from the same position, where one can clearly see the mosque....

That's what I meant about the angle. The mosque is on the right and the old tavern is dead centre. To me that implied that you must be somewhere near Roudia Bridge to take a picture like that, but the hill would get in the way. I must have taken pictures like your one and used them in blogs even. I hadn't noticed before where the mosque is in relation to the tavern and the opposite side of the valley.
