Re: Cyprus Scops Owl recognised as full species
I thought it was already recognised as a distinct species. I see on my Cyprus Nature Web Pages, I have it as a sub-species.
Cyprus has two endemic species, Cyprus Wheater Oenanthe cypriaca and Cyprus Warbler Sylvia melanothorax.
In addition there are four endemic subspecies, Cyprus Scops Owl Otus scops cyprius, Coal Tit Parus ater cypriotes, Short-toed Treecreeper Certhia brachydactyla dorotheae and Jay Garrulus glandarius glaszneri.
