Vit D Test

Post by kansas »

A friend needs to know if she's deficient in Vit D. Does anyone know if one can get a test in Paphos?

Thanks

Living in Cyprus you'd have to be unlucky to have a deficiency of vitamin D. A blood test is needed.

There are many nasty reasons why you could be low on vitamin D.

I would have thought that any of the many private labs in Paphos would have done this test

Thanks for the input, much appreciated.

Just for the record the sunlight doesn't help as much as you may think, according to the radiologist in Paphos, Dr Vorkas, particularly if you either have osteopenia or osteopororis. Foods can definitely help, particularly oily fish and eggs which this lady can't eat so I'll recommend that she sees her GP.

Thanks again.

Here in the UK, I buy VitD tablets from Lidl - I think they are about three quid for 60 .... so, I pop one a day just for peace of ming.
