Stormy Seas
Stormy Seas
Paphos took a bit of a battering over Christmas. The storms were relentless and nature put on a display the match of any New Year's Eve pyrotechnics. Once the dust had settled, we took our cameras out for a spin. This is the blog of the film we published a couple of days ago...

Re: Stormy Seas
I know you read the blogs Max, I was asking Lincoln. On the first page of the blog I say that the boat sank, hence I was puzzled by his comment.
I have edited the post about the ex Mayor though. It now reads:
"Meanwhile, looking back at the harbour, we didn't see any wrecked ships, so presumably it did its job. There used to be a harbour wall that ran by the main road, but apparently it was removed at the behest of the previous mayor, who then went on to do a stint in jail. Had that wall still been intact then a lot of the debris washed over the road would have been stopped. That's not why the old mayor ended up in the clink though!"

It was only to draw your attention that you can change your text about the ex-mayor as soon as possible... nobody knows who is reading it on Facebook.....

Re: Stormy Seas
Very rarely do I read the blogs. I kind of skim through them. I mainly concentrate on the pictures and films that you produce. Keep up the good work.

Re: Stormy Seas
Well, if you are going to comment on them, perhaps you should read them first. Otherwise your comment just looks silly.
To elaborate:
Imagine somebody posts a picture of, say, a nice big juicy steak, with a caption "I bought this in Butcher Boy".
If you leave a comment such as "You can buy that in Butcher Boy" it looks daft.
However, a comment like "Nice pic", "Have a nice BBQ", or even "Sorry, I'm a vegan" is not daft.

Re: Stormy Seas
Did you remove my post Dominic? It was I who mentioned that the previous Mayor had had the old wall removed when the whole harbour area was being revamped, a while ago. There was a lot of conversation on Jim’s old board about it. Since then there is a lot of rubbish which gets washed up all along the harbour front and probably some man hours are.spent after each storm clearing this up. Probably the reason why no boats were sunk inside the harbour is that all boat owners are aware of the danger to their boats Which were moored there during the summer season.Usually the owners of vulnerable boats move them to more sheltered anchorages elsewhere, or smaller boats are removed by being put on their trailers and stored on dry land.
