Re: Sheila Hawkins 'Back of Beyond'

Amazing! Brilliant Dom. I had the privelige of meeting Shelia and Harry on several occasions, and going to their house in Neo Chorio. When I retired in 2006 there were collections from several bodies within the school where I spent the last 13 years of my working life. I used these monies to buy an ...

Re: Sheila Hawkins 'Back of Beyond'

Al if you need any of her books, let me know. We do get them in the Bookshop from time to time. Never ceases to amaze me the books we do get in the shop, if you're ever after a bit of a 'rarity', or just a new read (we recently had a queue of requests for the Jo Jo Moyes sequel "After you"...

Re: rum

No knowledge of the Mount Gay rum, but in general, Cycleband on the Polis road, now named Ikaogoura (apologies for spelling) is good for spirits. I get Bacardi there for €13.25 (I think, def €13....something), can't get it under € 16 anywhere else, including Theo's. Only problem is supplies seem to ...

Re: Disabled phone, help

Thanks Lloyd, I had actually tried to do it through Google, but proved beyond my capabilities. Not helped by said granddaughter telling me I was doing it wrong, yet when I left it to her to do it she had to admit defeat! Had to go SOS with her iPad so have left both with them to repair and resurrect...

Re: Disabled phone, help

PolemiIan, unfortunately I'm not really sure, she says it was after the battery had run down, and when charged again asked for passcode, which she entered twice, it then came up with "phone is disabled go to iTunes" tried that but it's beyond my IT skills to sort, so thought easiest would ...

Re: New tv series starting on Friday

Re Prime Suspect - I struggle sometimes with these 'resurrections' . I loved the original 'Prime Suspect', have several DVDs of the original series. As with 'Morse', can't get my head around 'Endeavour' . Why do they try to resurrect such good series, just let them go. Just doesnt work IMHO.

Re: New tv series starting on Friday

"Broadchurch" is back tonight with, if the interview and trailer on BBCNews this morning are anything to go by, a cracking opening episode with Julie Hesmondhalgh.

Re: What is this?

I readily admit to being out of touch with farming attire, but is this really what the current farmhands wear to look after the animals, the crops or the plants?

Re: School Athletics - Medical Approval

Well I guess common sense would say that medically, with children certainly, things could change rapidly. But, how would a doctor who doesnt really know the child know any different? But can some basic, rudimentary tests gaurantee to reveal any underlying serious problems? I'm not undermining the te...

"I'd also scrap the extra money to rebuild BUCKINHAM palace... properly tax the royals......" Buckingham Palace is owned by the state, not the Royal Family. Are you suggesting that the nation should simply ignore problems in ancient buildings and let them fall into disrepair and eventually...

Re: Connor- was there an outcome?

Think it could be difficult Dominic, there were several threads over quite a period of time relating his dealings with a nefarious developer, his lawyer and his henchmen, and I mean that seriously. Conor was hospitalised by them as well as losing a shedload of dosh. Unless I'm thinking of the wrong ...
