Re: flight pass and test on arrival
My flight to Bristol on 3rd Aug was cancelled today. I am trying to return to UK to check on my flat and other important things. But with the Covid situation I have now had 3 flts cancelled. I will give up for now and hope that things will get better In due course. There is no point in booking unles...

Re: Fly screens needed in Kamares?
I previously lived in Kamares for many years. You definitely need fly screens fitted on every window. We had them fitted on both front and back doors too so that we could leave these doors open at times in the hot weather to help increase the ventilation.

Re: Coronavirus: August worst in decades for Paphos tourism
I've just had notice from EasyJet that my flight back to the UK from Paphos In early August has been cancelled by. them. It's the third flight which I have booked to be cancelled. So, J am probably going to give up and stay where I am. It's just too much hassle. Cyprus Govt are making it very diffic...

Re: flight pass and test on arrival
So what will happen to UK tourists, will they also have to self isolate for 14 days after their arrival? Surely few would want to have to sign a declaration like the one above? Do they have to have a flight pass too? And if they are to be exempted then what?

Re: €300 Fines For Non Completion Of Flight Pass
Thats exactly what I thought too! If people are traveling without digital devices what are they supposed to do, never mind older people who may be unable to fill in an on line form electronically? Not everyone has younger members of the family to do it for them. Very unfair and stressful, as if air ...

Re: Flight Pass fine
To me this all seems O.T.T. If passengers don't have a computer or access to one in the last 24 hrs, in effect having paid for the flight they will be unable to fill in this form even by hand... I wonder how many travelers intending to visit Cyprus will simply decide to go elsewhere? When I read abo...

Re: Flight Pass
Does anyone know if the rigmarole regarding this flight Pass is just for tourists coming here for a holiday, or If it's also affects returning Cyprus Permanent Residents with MEU documentation and other proof of identity? After all we have already registered all details with Immigration previously.....

Re: Paphos hotels desperate for British holidaymakers
Reading all this its a difficult decision for Govts anywhere to decide whether to run the risks of admitting foreign tourists especially from country's which are just coming out of their own lock downs. Though at present the Govt here are making it pretty difficult for Brits to come here and the lon...

Re: Free testing in Cyprus for uk Tourists
Yes, I agree with you! It does seem as if the Cyprus Govt is making things difficult for both British holiday makers and returning Cyprus residents. Trying to get a Covid test and a written certificate within 72hrs sounds difficult. I downloaded and read through 10 pages of the Cyprus Flight pass fo...

Re: DRIVING IN SANDALS
Wearing flip flops is risky, as they are held on the foot by the toes only and can twist. In the event of emergency braking it has been known for a flip flop to get stuck under the pedal thus preventing the driver from braking. People should use their common sense, even if they have just left he bea...

Re: Police urge motorcyclists to wear helmets
I agree with anyone who posts that the laws regarding helmets being compulsory for bike riders must be obeyed. Everyone should know this and if they flout the law they should be fined, in a bad case the bike should be confiscated too. Also under age drivers and riders who have no insurance, or licen...

Re: Articulated lorries to be banned from the roads on Sundays
I guess that someone wants easier access on the secondary road network which leads to the mountains and to Polis and surrounding area. But generally, as Trev says there are much less commercial vehicles on the roads on Sundays. It will be different if the Govt allows scheduled flights from the UK to...

Re: Free testing in Cyprus for uk Tourists
Problem is although rumour abounds, until or unless the Cy Gov gives the go ahead for Cyprus bound flights from the UK to land here, they are liable to be cancelled. So far it hasn't said whether flights can land here on the 1st August. Similarly although the Cyprus Mail published the story about th...

Louise, Unfortunately, the UK is seem by Cyprus as still having a higher number of Covid cases than most other countries in Europe, countries are graded A to C , Countries are graded according to their risk. For example, Cyprus and many other European countries are graded as 'A', but the UK is grade...

Re: Coronavirus: British tourists to be offered free rapid testing in Cyprus on arrival sources
If you read the whole article carefully, it says that nothing has yet been decided yet and it would be announced officially when presumably, UK is upgraded to Class B which is still pending.. It's better not to spread as yet unsubstantiated rumours. But as the UK Gov.Foreign & Commonwealth offic...

Re: Free testing in Cyprus for uk Tourists
Why not get tested in the UK before hand as this is what the official line here is.if you look at the Foreign & Commonwealth travel advice- Cyprus. Much as Cyprus welcomes tourists, this is a snall Island which has had its own successful lockdown and wants to avoid a 2nd brush with a Covid pande...

No, I think that they are open. I was there last week picking up my driving licence.
But, they are still operating with telephone made appointments. You can't just walk in.Ring them first.

Re: US to train Cypriot troops.
Yes, Tanny I agree with you. But the Cypriot National Guard would be very unlikely to be trained by UK forces. Old memories of the Colonial days die hard! No doubt there must be a lot more being offered by this deal to both sides. But American troops can be a bit 'gung ho' in their actions, shoot fi...

Re: Help needed, please!
We employed filipina domestic helpers while we were living in Hong Kong. A good one is a treasure. When you first employ them, you need to talk to the girl. Find out whether she has worked for a British family before and whether she can cook good English dishes. Hopefully she should have had some pr...
