Re: British Figures Adjusted
But it is constant negativity, every time we hear the daily death toll. It's not too early to know the figure to date but they've been massaging the figures to make the death toll appear lower than it really is, they know what they're doing and should be held to account now, not in 100 years. You do...

Re: British Figures Adjusted
Jimgym Again I would say refer to the ONS statistics which takes into account all the points you raised and sadly points out there were an additional 45K deaths according to yearly and seasonal trends. I suppose I'm one of your "Usual Suspects" but when criticism of this government's respo...

LTD The UK government had ample warning after the failures highlighlighted by Cygnus. You can't keep referring to the crash of 2008, that was twelve years ago and successive Tory governments went down the path of austerity, totally ignoring the Cygnus findings. I've worked for oil companies that hav...

Re: British Figures Adjusted
Sky News give a very in depth graph comparing deaths during the CV 19 pandemic and previous years. A spike over the last 3 months shows a leap of 45,000 +.over an average which takes in deaths for cancer, flu and other fatal diseases. If the 26,000 figure the government is claiming is deducted this ...

I see they ( the UK government) are still being selective with their figures.

Living The Dream Firstly, as I said to another poster, I personally don't have a "Downer" on the UK and I would hazard a guess HIC doesn't either. Yes we are both critical, not of the country but of the shambolic government who tend to be reluctant to tell the truth or able to run the prov...

Re: UK Government can't say it wasn't warned...
But when you give general answers you have to simplify, and when you simply you get less accurate. Then, people take your answers and give them to other scientists, who say "Well that isn't right", because of course, it isn't right, it is simplifed. And so the people asking the questions ...

I'm looking forward to when all these experts who have suddenly popped up on social media are working for WHO and governments around the world! You don't have to be an expert to ask why the airports in the UK have been open through the critical phase of the pandemic just as you don't have to be an ...

I have found that in the past, I have been pulled up by other members of PL for posting things that do not affect Cyprus. Here we have a total thread concerning the UK and it's handling of Covid19. Here at present everyone is helping everyone else to the best of their ability. Neighbours are offeri...

This is going around Facebook at the moment and seems to be very popular. I think this should also apply to people on forums particularly those that don't even live in the UK.(I would also add Andrew Marr to the list). A message to all our Negative UK Press - including Laura Kuenssberg of the BBC, ...

Not all questions are scientific, as an example: "Why are the government not announcing the actual number of deaths". Even scientific questions can be asked and answered in layman's terms; I think most on here can grasp the basics of how the virus is spread, incubation, symptoms etc but th...

Re: UK Government can't say it wasn't warned...
The below article from the Cyprus Mail really spells out the UK government's failure in coming to terms with CV19. The attitude of "We should support the government no matter what" is ridiculous. Where there's failings there should be questions, the media has been very easy on the UK gover...
