Accept your point Trev, but in our case we did our calculations before retiring early, and had factored in State pensions starting when i would be 65 and my wife 60. Now the rules have changed, my wife has to wait until she is 64 yrs and 9 months and myself around 66-67..... That's a lot of money to...

We might be eligible for a higher pension, but in my case it won't get paid until i am at least 66-67 yrs old...

With regard health insurance, it has certainly paid us to have both ,in patient and out patient cover.
We are 60 and 63 health insurance​ costing €2400 a year for us both.
Unfortunately we've had a few problems in the last 3 yrs where the insurance company have paid out around €18k....
