Re: Turkish Cypriot authorities condemn EU's rejection of two-state solution
In my opinion, this will never be resolved. As for the statement by the EU, well that has the gravitas of, should we say, someone like Matt Hancock. The only reason Turkey takes any notice of the fools in Brussels is their ability to throw money at Turkey to stem the flow of migrants. Some additiona...

Re: Twelve Double Vaccinated People Die From Indian Variant
I hadn't heard that Robert Peel had criticised Boris. Mr Peel was the last Tory PM. All subsequent PM's labelled as Tory, have in fact been Conservative & Unionist PM's. I've no idea which "Tory prime ministers" have condemned him, but if anyone is using May as an example then they re...

Re: If only I'd warned...
Last year there was a drive to recruit an 'army' of people to work on the harvest etc. Sure enough, thousands volunteered as it would get them out of the house and into the fresh air. Sadly, once they realised that the work was hard and monotonous they disappeared.

Re: International Driving Licence
One must wonder how much time the Cyprus authorities need to inform the DVLA of such a change, when in the past ten years the gentleman concerned has had no issue with using his replacement UK licence on trips to the UK and having it DVLA checked when doing car rentals. I would suspect that the RoC ...

Re: Pink Floyd, a statement by Roger Waters.
It is such a shame that the band fell apart. I did get to see Rogers Us + Them tour in London a couple of years ago (2018) and it was a fabulous show.

Re: International Driving Licence
It's not because of Brexit. It has always been the case, a bit like 90/180 days.
Do what a friend of mine did. Write to the DVLA claiming you have lost the licence. They send a new one and you surrender the old one in Cyprus in exchange for a Cypriot one. Not ethical but would work.

Pink Floyd, a statement by Roger Waters.
An interesting post by Roger regarding the release of a revamped 'Animals' album and some insight into the dispute with Dave Gilmour, was made available on Roger waters.com and Facebook today.

According to the rules. You can indeed attend a funeral but you must continue to isolate afterwards and then return. In short, no you cannot fly over, attend the funeral and fly back.

Re: New HSBC Account Not Being Recognised By UK Pension Service
Sorry to hear that HiC has a problem with no longer being able to use a financial service that was always for the use of UK residents.
As for the 'Brexit' connection. Now it is his turn to live with the decision of other people for a period and wait patiently for a future opportunity to reverse it.

I do enjoy Marmite but if it cannot be sourced for great periods, I can do without. As for Sourdough bread, I prefer that to anything else, with the possible exception of German/Polish rye bread.

Are they UK citizens? If they are, they will be unable to get the MEU1. I would suggest that they contact the British High Commission. They would have had to have been here before and up to December 31st 2020 to have been protected by the Withdrawal Agreement.

Interesting. It does not surprise me that it is just not available in Wales as yet. The Government in Wales announced today that you can phone for a Certificate but it could take ten days to arrive lol

As long as Putin remains, nothing will change in his friends fiefdom. As for the EU taking a strong stance, yeah right! The world at large had a chance when he lost the recent election but it is too late now IMHO

I managed to sign it and really do think that the Government should start to take its agreed protectionism of the Akamas seriously.

As a previous post says, it's not unique to the Brits. As a Brit however, I always tend to notice the spoken or written desire to source anything British on any given day for eating out, in or drinking. Mind Boggling!
