Re: New 50 euro notes.

Do you happen to know how long the old notes will still be valid? Geoff. It hasn't been announced, but they have stated that notice of the date will be given "well in advance". Even after they have been withdrawn they will retain their value for ever. However, you would then have to take them to a ...

New 50 euro notes.

You may be aware that the 50 euro note has been redesigned and is now in circulation. The old notes remain valid and the two will circulate together for the time being. However, many of the machines that retailers have, that check for forgeries, don't recognise the new notes and signal accordingly. ...

If you don't want to go to the car wash, you could always buy a bucket and sponge. It works out cheaper and gets you off that sofa. ;)

Re: Aerosols on flights from UK

They have been up to now, as most people pack a deodorant. The 100ml restriction for carry-on luggage applies to most airlines/countries, and anything in excess of this has to be in checked-in luggage. However, the content of the aerosol is an issue as I believe spray paint etc are not allowed. But ...

Re: registering for tax in cyprus

The deregistering for tax in the UK will happen automatically if you register in Cyprus, as they do talk to each other to make sure you are registered somewhere and not trying to slip through the net. I´m struggling to believe that. Where do you have that info from? Also, as long as as your taxable...

Re: registering for tax in cyprus

The deregistering for tax in the UK will happen automatically if you register in Cyprus, as they do talk to each other to make sure you are registered somewhere and not trying to slip through the net. It will cost 80 euros to register for tax in Cyprus. If you claim the 5% tax rate you are not allow...

I gather the list is in Table 6, Part I(B) of Regulation 8. However I can't find those regulations so not very helpful I'm afraid.

Re: Made to Measure Suit.

There is a good tailor in Paphos town, as HIC says. Like him, I don't know the name or number, but if you exit the old market in the town and head for the mosque, it's down one of the roads on the right sort of opposite the mosque. About 2 or 3 shops down if I remember right, owned by an old Cypriot...

The UK will be part of the decision making process while still a member. They won't be involved in decisions relating to the EU response to Brexit, or the future of the EU beyond the exit date (whenever that will be).

Deutsche bank has it's headquarters in Frankfurt.
Investing in infrastructure projects is nothing to do with financial centres, it's investing to get a profit.

I don't see how either of these is relevant to the UK's future as a financial centre Geoff.

Re: Sky news this morning.

I note that there are a number of posts suggesting that things will return to how they were in the pre-EU past. The fact is that they won't as the world (and Cyprus) has moved on. People may as well say we will go back to the how things were when Cyprus was a colony. Reference has also been made to ...

Re: Tony Blair Petition - Please sign

In the UK, as elsewhere, all ex-prime ministers receive protection for the rest of their lives. You seem to be supporting the idea that this should be withdrawn if the person in question has views you disagree with. To extend this stance, we can see that all ex-prime ministers should have their prot...

Re: Paphos sanctuary has over 700 cats (PICTURES)

But why? Couldn't they be let out to be cats again, as they are more than able to look after themselves (assuming they are healthy of course). I can understand neutering programmes, which are obviously vital. But why spend money on feeding them when it could be spent on more neutering?
