cattery

We wanted to bring our cat back to the UK, so sorted out vaccinations and a company to do the shipping etc, unfortunately the flight he was due to fly with was cancelled due to reduction in number of flights because of Covid, so we had to put him into a cattery until a flight became available. We us...

Re: Hornets

The hornets we usually see are the oriental hornet, not the Asian one. Oriental hornets usually nest in the ground, so you can sometimes see them going into a hole in a bank or under a stone in a ruined wall. The pest removal companies (in my experience) aren't interested unless you can show them th...

Re: Detached Retina

Don't know if a detached retina is the same, but my wife had a torn retina in the uk, she had noticed a problem with the vision and rang the optician who called her in immediately, diagnosed it, contacted the hospital and sent her straight up where they were waiting for her. Laser was used to staple...

metal detector request

A bizarre request if I may... I've lost my septic tank, well I know where it should be according to the plans but there are no inspection hatches in that area. So I was wondering if someone has a metal detector that I could borrow or that they would be prepared to pop up and sweep over the area rath...

plumbers merchant

Hi
I'm trying to find some 40mm waste pipe connectors, all the DIY type stores I've been in today only stock the flexible pipes which won't do the job. Does anyone know of a plumbers merchant that may stock a greater range especially if it's open tomorrow.

Thanks in anticipation

Re: Two fires in Paphos, one not yet under control

There was a third one later in the morning between Pano Akourdalia and Critou Terra, this needed two helicopters and several ground crews from Polis due to the difficulty in accessing the fire.

typical... I'm going out this weekend for a few weeks, if the snow eases enough for the flight. Not sure when I'm next out, will give you a shout if I'm over and see if it matches up with you.

Hope all goes well with the birth.

Re: central heating pump

yes, that's what has happened, it's jammed so solid I can't free it at all, sediment and corrosion build up.. it's been in a good few years and get's such infrequent use, it's not too surprising it's finally died.

Re: central heating pump

yes, same sort of thing, this one is for the hot water loop rather than the under floor heating though. It's a straight forward swap if I can source a pump..
