Re: Prevalence of Omichron
The main reason the Netherlands have gone into lockdown is that only 9 percent of the population has had a booster shot. The government is afraid the hospitals can't cope with numbers without a lockdown and they hope that by mid January the majority of the population will have had the booster shot. ...

Re: Using a solicitor as an executor of a will.
Dutch law as well as Cypriot law requires 2 witness signatures on a will. I don't know if a lawyer is strictly necessary but I would always use one just to be sure all is done correctly. My lawyer charged me 100 euros which I thought was worth every penny. A lawyer could also advise you if you need ...

Re: Using a solicitor as an executor of a will.
Jeba, you don't need to register your will. Give your children a copy and tell them where they can find the original. I have appointed my daughter as executor. Will has to be signed by 2 witnesses. I have a separate will in the Netherlands for my Dutch assets.

Re: Using a solicitor as an executor of a will.
Jeba, you can have the German law applied in your Cypriot will.
I'm Dutch and in my Cypriot will I have stated that 'I wish any Cyprus Estate to be settled under the Laws of Succession of the Netherlands'.

Re: Special defence tax
I have just been to the tax office to get the T-38 form, which you now have to get on line together with form TD38QA. I need a copy of my father's birth certificate or an affidavit of his place of birth. He's been dead for over 40 years and I haven't got any papers left of him. Has anyone else come ...

Re: Ikea Assembly + Delivery
Delivery is very cheap, I paid around Euro 10 for a book case to be delivered in Tala. Ikea does assembly too, after delivery by a different team, so extra costs. Would be cheaper to get that done by someone locally.
