More than likely, thermocouple failure. Ignition button lights ‘pilot flame’, pilot light keeps thermocouple tip hot, gas supply valve stays open, cold tip and valve closes. It is a ‘fail safe’ device.

For what it’s worth, I had my appointment for upgrading MEU1 to MUKW3 today, thought I had everything required, forms/passports/copies/bills etc., but, every electricity bill from 1996 showing continuous use was not sufficient! (Too much paper) Go to AIK and get a stamped and signed printout of cons...

With everything in hand (+ copies) I was informed my old driving license no. Did not match my MEU 1 no. Rejected, ‘go to immigration and get a letter to say you are only one person’. Life here can be a little difficult.
