Re: Neon Mall September Update
Jumbo have recently announced they are to open two new stores in Cyprus. They don't say where, but they currently have seven. One in Paphos, two in Limasol, three in Nicosia (one of which is in the north), and one in Larnaka. My guess is that they will be in the north.

Re: Reshuffling Failed Politicians Desperately Hoping for Improvements
I think you are posting on the wrong forum. This one is to do with life in, and matters relating to, Paphos in Cyprus.

Re: Passing on Property Deeds to family
It could be an issue in relation to renewing residency if you are not an owner or renter. Very important to get good legal advice.

Re: Lottery Dream
They can refuse to pay out if they learn you live outside the UK or the countries that play the Euro lottery. However, assuming you get a payout, and given that currently Cypriot banks pay little or no interest, you would be better to transfer your millions to Turks & Caicos or Cayman Islands fo...

I wondered what it was going to look like, so thanks.
There is a rumour, with no evidence I can find, that this area contained an airdrome when under British rule.

Yes, they will be coming. Unfortunately, they won't be coming to Paphos as the games will be played in Limassol.

I love the old town. More up-market than Coral Bay and TOTK. No karaoke which is an added bonus.

Re: Tala Square demolition plans.
It is indeed a shame, as it will spoil the square. However, I looked at the list of people who signed the petition so far and noticed an absence of Cypriot names. Whilst not a scientific analysis, it suggests the majority of people objecting are not Cypriots and therefore don't have votes in the nex...

Re: Bar open and Close
I don't know why the sports bar never really got going. However, I am reliably informed that, although the sports bar element has closed, the taverna element remains open as it has always been. A great location, great views and a relaxed feel. Give it a visit, or even an overnight stay. A little gem.

I refuse to use them. I prefer human contact, and don't see why I should do someone out of a job. From my observations they are often problematic.

Re: Unoffical Border Crossings
Yes, people do. It's not particularly difficult at nighttime if you know where to attempt it, even in central Nicosia where the green line is very narrow. Of course, if you get caught you will be in big trouble, so I don't recommend anybody trying.

Re: Wills in Cyprus.
I believe much of the probate delay is down to the tax office. Before probate can be granted the tax office have to be happy that the tax affairs of the deceased are in order and paid up. This causes delay as the tax office have a backlog.

Well done for making it so far. This is my favourite park in Cyprus. Lemba Community Council have left it to nature to run wild, and much of it has been declared a protected zone, meaning it can't be built on.

They have taken on a huge task, but I'm sure it will be worth it. It's good to see a developer with a commitment to doing it right, rather than just chasing the money to the exclusion of everything else.
