We've done it recently. No problem and it's a very slick process.

Re: Good place to buy small filing cabinet + hanging files?

Went to Ikea today and got a white 3 drawer filing cabinet, plus the hangers, so thanks for the recommendation. We visited Furniture R Us, New to You and Paws yesterday but no luck there. Wife was also happy to shop in the Cyprus Mall today!!!

Re: Good place to buy small filing cabinet + hanging files?

Thanks Laplage, I was going to ask you the question about the hangers as I had a feeling it would be the case.

Can you remember if they were displayed close by the cabinets, or in a separate department?

Re: Gallblader

I had mine removed over 20 years ago, so not in Cyprus. I was in severe pain on and off for several years before the op. I had keyhole surgery so it was very quick and neat. I was eating a full English breakfast the following morning in the hospital, and within a week I was eating curries. I had sev...

No problems here either for the two of us. We were logged out a couple of times but by 9.15 I had my appointment.

Re: Minister Blames the People

I had a similar experience to Dee but went during the week when there were a lot of people around. However, the vaccination room was well organised with a senior nurse making sure you stood well back as you entered the room. I had my vaccination behind a screen and then was asked to sit on a sofa fo...

Hand held vacuum

Can anyone recommend a good, i.e. good suction and variety of tools, hand held vacuum cleaner that they've purchased locally. Cordless would be good, but equally happy with plug in. Our GTech failed after 3 months......

Thanks

Re: Chemist Direct UK

Can we PLEASE stop the bickering about Brexit? It is what it is and we have to deal with it. I've always found this site so helpful and informative but it's now becoming boring when the Brexit subject is so frequently raised and personal attacks appear to be on the increase IMHO.

Re: Dexascan - Mr G Vorkas Radiology

Thank you, Dee and Galexinda.

He provided a report in English when I went to him privately, so I expect he does the same for those in Gesy.

Dexascan - Mr G Vorkas Radiology

Can anyone advise me if Mr Vorkas is in GESY? If so, do you know if he still types out his reports in English for you to collect?

Thanks

Re: Pneumonia “jab”

In November 2020 I went to Dr Dora of the Blue Cross for a flu jab. While I was there I asked about the lifetime pneumonia vaccination. She confirmed that she had a small supply in and it would cost me €90.

Re: Another Question on Vaccinations

I now keep a couple of business sized cards in my wallet with my details written in large letters in permanent marker. Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, ID number. I hand one of these over to doctor, rheumy, etc. You'd be surprised how grateful they are when you do this, rather than have to reach ...

Replacing windows/doors with UPVC double glazing

A friend is considering replacing all her double glazed windows and sliding doors with sealed UPVC units. She wonders if it is worth all the expense and effort in a standard uninsulated 20 year old concrete Cyprus house with no central heating. The house has been subject to damp and mold for a numbe...

Re: Glasses...

There will be good and bad experiences in most places, but if they're prepared to put it right that's fine in my book. I have had a couple of problems with Elean in the 16 years we've been going to the shop in the old town, but they have been put right without question and in one case I was given fr...
