Facebook have their own version of Cloudflare. Twitter and other biggies had problems though. If you are a large site or get subjected to hacker attacks, a service like Cloudflare is (normally) invaluable.

There was an issue with Cloudflare today. That is a backend service used by a lot of the web to help prevent attacks. For some reason, their service crashed, affecting lots of sites worldwide. Fortunately they appear to have fixed the problem. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to make this post.
