Re: The Cypriot Market

I find it is extremely satisfying and rewarding to learn the Greek language and attempt to use it in real life situations.

I also find the feedback I get from Cypriots is always positive and that makes the effort even more worthwhile.

Just saying........

Re: Place in the Sun

Pentakomo is a place name which is pronounced quite a bit different to how Brits might expect to pronounce it. Well, tell us how to pronounce it! I have an idea but I cannot be certain. Re: Greek translation

I studied Greek for a few years and although I’m far from fluent I can get by. Now I’ve retired (just) I’ve started again and find it difficult but rewarding. My Cypriot friends are more than willing to help, encourage and correct where necessary.

No doubt there is/has been a mad scramble to get flights back to the UK before these quarantine measures begin. Feel sorry for those people who must get back to the UK for work etc.

I’ve been on the 612 bus from the harbour to the airport on many occasions. Always found it to be super reliable and never ‘patchy’

No Charge

A man who just died is delivered to a local mortuary wearing an expensive, expertly tailored black suit. The mortician asks the deceased's wife how she would like the body dressed. She points out that the man does look good in the black suit he is already wearing. The widow, however, says that she a...
