A Tale of Two Tides - or Three

Post by PhotoLady »

Still not quite something we can get used to now we're back in UK is having to deal with things which happen or not, depending on the tidal flow when the sea arrives at the mouth of our river estuary and causes an inundation.

We sort of go from one extreme to the other....

High Tide - where the river Wyre meets the Irish sea. The sea is the other side of the ferry jetty, taken at Knott End side of the river Wyre with Nikkor AF-S Telephoto 55mm x 300mm lens - but no tripod) looking towards the Lakeland fells.

Very Low Tide - so low, they bring people in by air! This wall is where the sea is in the photo above. (Mobile phone photo 5MP rear camera).

And our Cyprus tide - Limassol, Curium Beach. The wet footprints show where the tide ebbed away during the couple of hours we spent there. No planes here! (Taken using Canon IXUS 95 IS compact camera 10MP lens)

How are your Cyprus tides doing these days? Not seen any "winter storm" photos or damage around Riccos or Polis/Latchi this year so far... There are usually one or two reports and photos coming out of Paphos direction. I'm missing my "fix" :-)
