Post by cyprusmax47 »

This is quite a large village in Paphos district near the sea, but what is it's name?

Well spotted! Andreas. Photo was done just before Pelathousa village coming from Lysos. Down the awful mining area of Limni which suppose to be two different golf courses in future...

Your photo made me look for Limni mine references on the internet. This is an interesting article I found:

Must pay the area a closer visit on day. I only know the pier area and the beach close by where we have found nice slag pieces previously.

Interesting article, but not about Limni which was very important in ancient times.
This link is about Limni

I found 20 years ago huge slag heaps (hills) near the village of Makounta, 1 mile away, mixed with ancient stone tools, which I believe are much older than Roman times.
