Blurred I-phone

I don't know if anyone has had the same issue as me with my i-phone.

Today my screen became blurred for no apparent reason, I switched it off and on again, no difference. I could see that there was a message, but too blurred to see who from. Panic, this is my lifeline. I powered it down completely, left it for a few minutes, then switched on again, and it was back to normal.

What does it mean for my phone, does anyone know please? Is my battery going maybe? (It was fully charged too).
