Last days to get vitamin D from sun this year...

Post by cyprusmax47 »

As one can get vitamin D from the sun only if the incidence angle of radiation is >42 degree you have to hurry up and get out in the sunshine the next two days as from next week this angle is too low to produce any, no matter how long you are in the sunshine.

You have to wait then until mid February when the sun is back at higher levels.

It is only 1/2 hour from 11.30 to 12.00 so you won't get burned, but you can get 20.000 I.U. Vitamin D. from that providing you are dressed only with a minimum.

Well, if it is a clear sunny day in the UK you can get enough Vit D from the sun between the first week of April and the first week of September.
But it has to be 12.30 - 13.30 in the first and last weeks of this period of time. In midsummer the time span of course is much longer. (10 AM - 4 PM)
(data are Manchester area!)

I prefer as long as possible to avoid artificial vitamin D from capsules. But the next 3 month or so i will take also some.
Fact is that the sun produces much more than dietary supplements and costs nothing. The body regulates automatically the amount in order not to get overdosed.

Another fact is that cholesterol levels which most people are too high, get reduced when body is exposed to sun light in order to produce vitamin D3.

Here my source: German pharma concern EUCELL

"Vitamin D synthesis:
The starting substance for the body's own (endogenous) synthesis of vitamin D3 is 7-dehydrocholesterol. It is found in the skin and is derived from cholesterol.

Under the influence of UV-B radiation, previtamin D3 is formed in a first step through a photochemical reaction. In a second step, previtamin D3 is converted into active vitamin D3 through a light-independent reaction."

I believe that the reason my Cholesterol level is low (128) as well as my Triglycerides (61) comes also from the fact that i enjoy daily at least one hour Cyprus sun without using any sun cream since 40 years i am here..
